         A Minna Magistrates’ Court has sentenced a 22-year-old receptionist, Mustapha Husseini, to six months in prison for stealing his employer’s cell phone.   Husseini was docked on one-count charge of theft, contrary to Section 288 of the Penal Code. The Prosecutor, Insp. Muazu Abdullahi, told the court that the complainant, Joseph Onuche, of Maitumbi area in Minna reported the matter at the police station on Feb. 3.   Abdullahi said Onuche plugged his Techno Camon Cx Phone, valued at N57,000 to charge when the convict, whom he employed as receptionist at his office, made away with it. When the charge was read to Husseini, he pleaded guilty and begged the court for leniency, saying he stole his employer’s phone for failing to pay his wages as agreed.   Husseini said  “I stole the phone because my boss broke the agreement we had that he would be paying me N5000 after every two weeks.                    Before Meghan Markle became the Duchess of Sussex, she was simply Meghan, an American actress who had no fancy titles attached to her name. Michael Maji a.k.a Mike SARS got married in Khani, Rivers state to his pregnant fiancee. 10 days later, he was gunned down by suspected assassins in his in-laws' community, the same village where he did his traditional wedding. A 2-year-old boy is in critical condition following an accident that happened as a result of his mother's carelessness. Mrs Olaore Yetunde, the mother of the injured boy, put her son in harm's way when she left him alone in her parked car and dashed into her apartment on Adetoro Adelaja street, Magodo, Lagos on May 24, 2018. In her haste, Mrs Yetunde forgot to properly bring her Hyundai 4-wheel-drive SUV to a halt with the handbrake after she parked in her compound. As soon as she left the scene, the car began moving on its own, sliding out of the compound through the open gate and onto the street. It then slid off the main road and plunged into a 20-feet gully, where it somersaulted several times.  The infant, who sustained injuries in the head and the arm, was rescued by the Command Rapid Response Squad patrol team stationed near the scene of the incident, according to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Chike Oti. North Korea has said its supreme leader, Kim Jong Un is still willing to meet Donald Trump "at any time," despite the US President's abrupt cancellation of what would have been a historic summit between the two leaders, scheduled for June 12. Kim Kye Gwan, a top official at North Korea's Foreign Ministry, said Trump's decision to cancel the talks runs counter to the global community's wishes for peace on the Korean Peninsula. The current outbreak of Ebola is spreading in Democratic Republic of Congo as a Catholic priest has been quarantined after being infected with the virus.   According to health officials in Congo, he was infected in the town of Mbandaka. “We have quarantined a priest from the diocese of Mbandaka-Bikoro who tested positive” for the Ebola virus, a medical source told AFP. DRC health officials launched a small, targeted vaccination campaign this week to help rein in the latest Ebola outbreak in the country, which so far has claimed 27 lives. Kinshasa announced on May 8 that there had been cases of the notorious haemorrhagic fever in a remote northwestern district called Bikoro.   According to a World Health Organization count, 58 cases have been identified since early April. Former Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode and his wife Precious Chikwendu have welcomed three boys. The couple welcomed the triplets this morning. It also happens to be Precious' birthday so it's double celebration for the family. The boys have been named Ragnar, Aiden, and Liam. The couple already have one son named Arargorn. Announcing the good news, FFK wrote: "I give thanks to God for the birth of my three beautiful sons Ragnar, Aiden and Liam this morning. They are so beautiful. Precious and the three boys are doing very well. Today is her birthday: what a wonderful birthday gift that the Lord has given to us. To God be the glory!"

The Federal High Court in Benin has ordered that the Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo, Chief Dan Orbih, be remanded in prison custody if he failed to perfect his bail.   The court had on Thursday granted the Orbih and Mr Osagie Ize-Iyamu, the 2016 governorship candidate, bail in the sum of N10 million for alleged N700 million fraud.   Also granted bail in the same condition, were the former deputy governor, Mr Lucky Imasuen, a former member of the House of Representatives, Tony Azegnemi and Efe Anthony.   Justice P. Adjokwu ordered the defendants to produce a surety each in like sum.   The judge ordered that the sureties, who must not be below salary grade level 16, must also be house owners, with Certificates of Occupancy (C of O) that should be deposited with the court’s deputy registrar.   Adjokwu, who rejected the plea by defendants’ counsel, Mr Charles Edosomwan, ordered them to be remanded in prison until they met the bail conditions.   The Judge adjourned t

Controversial Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh has spoken concerning the war of words between Kemi Olunloyo and Linda Ikeji over the latter’s pregnancy. Medical experts have differed over the forthcoming football match between Nigeria and the Democratic Republic of Congo. As Nigerian football fans warm up to watch live friendly football match between Super Eagles and the football team from the Democratic Republic of Congo, DRC, Nigerian medical doctors have expressed divergent views over the match following the outbreak of Ebola Virus Disease in the central African country.While some say, there is no cause for alarm, some of the doctors called for stringent precautionary measures to avoid the mistake of the past.  In the views of a professor of Medicine and Endocrinology at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LUTH, Prof. Olufemi Fasamade said there is no cause for alarm as the likelihood of bringing the virus to country was low.   According to Fasamade, Ebola is a condition easily suspected and vigilant port health authorities can screen and isolate ill people at the ports. He explained that at risk people can also be identifie
