Update: Police arrest man who allegedly killed 25-year-old Petrol Station manager in Nnewi

        The Anambra State Police Command has arrested the man who allegedly killed a petrol station manager, over N40, 000 in Okpuno Nnewichi, Nnewi. See previous report here   Spokesperson for the Command, Haruna Mohammed who confirmed the arrest said the case has been transferred to CIID for discreet investigation.   The deceased, Chigozie Emmanuel Aghaji, was said to be a graduate of engineering of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri.   The 25-year-old deceased was stabbed by his boss on his lower abdomen with screwdriver over missing N40,000 at Nenco petrol station.    According to reports, the suspect, from Imo state, is not the real owner of the petrol station as he got the property on lease.   “After conducting their usual account, the boss started accusing Chigozie of shortage of 40,000. “Though he initially denied the allegations, the boss said he was the one, insisting on collecting the missing money," said a source narra

Yobe State Commissioner of Police says the Shi’ites are planning to relocate their national headquarters to Potiskum town

  Sunmonu Abdulmaliki, the Yobe State Commissioner of Police has revealed that security reports have indicated that the leadership of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) is planning to relocate the Shi’ite national headquarters to Potiskum town. The commissioner in an exclusive interview with Dailypost in Damaturu on Monday said that intelligence gathered showed an influx of Shi’a members into the densely populated town. “They are not banned in Yobe state, so we are monitoring their activities and proactively stem what could be a crisis despite the recent clash between members of the sect and operatives of the Joint Task Force (JTF),” he revealed. He said it has been observed that the group residing in the state are not Shi’ites per se but they could be called El-Zakzaky group. “I must tell you that there is hardly any time they are caught they don’t find drugs with them and arms. Former Nigeria midfielder, Ajuma Ameh-Otache, dies at 33

  Former Nigerian midfielder, Ajuma Ameh-Otache, has died. She was 33 years old. According to reports, Ajuma died on Saturday, November 10th. She had been battling a rare muscular disease Ameh-Otache, who played for Nigeria at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, also won the African Women's Cup of Nations that same year. Ameh-Otache also played for the Super Falcons at the 2003 All Africa Games in Abuja. The former Pelican Stars player was in charge of Goodland Rangers Football Club of Lagos and made headlines as a successful female coach in charge of a male side. She is survived by her husband Peter Otache and three children. May her soul rest in peace.

Federal High Court revokes ex-Abia State Governor Orji Kalu’s bail

  The Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has revoked ex-Abia State Governir, Orji Kalu’s bail for failure to appear before it. The embattled governor is currently being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for an alleged fraud of N7.65bn. Kalu is standing trial alongside his former Commissioner for Finance, Ude Udeogo, and a company, Slok Nigeria Limited, on the amended 39-count charge of money laundering to the tune of N7.6bn.

Woman who gave birth to rapist’s baby faces 20 years in jail

  A woman who got pregnant after being raped is facing 20 years in jail charged with attempted murder after she gave birth to her abuser’s baby in a latrine in El Salvador. Imelda Cortez, 20, from San Miguel, has been in custody since April 2017 after giving birth to a baby girl fathered by her abusive elderly stepfather. Cortez had been abused by her 70-year-old stepfather since she was 12 years old. She got pregnant but claims she had no idea she was pregnant. Her mother found her one day bleeding heavily and in severe pain and she was rushed to hospital. The emergency room doctor suspected an abortion and called the police. When officers arrived they found the baby healthy and alive. But due to the country's rigid abortion laws, Cortez was charged with attempted murder, denied bail and sent to jail after a week in hospital. A notorious fraudster fled from authorities in the UK by booking a flying lesson and then convincing the flying instructor to drop him off in France during a lesson, a court has heard. According to Mail Online, Jamie Colwell had been convicted of a £1m VAT scam alongside his ailing father , Brian and both men faced lengthy prison sentences. But while on bail, Jamie Colwell, 51, came up with a plan to flee the country. He reportedly first hired a third party to drive his 74-year-old father to France via Dover in his new Porsche Cayenne. The driver then returned bringing back with Brian Colwell's passport for his son to use as his had been confiscated as part of his bail conditions. Jamie then booked a flying lesson in south-east Kent in his father's name. When the aircraft entered French airspace he convinced the instructor to land at an airfield in the Pas-de-Calais region and let him out, the court heard.
