She started up her day with a visit to Royal Diamond Orphanage Home in Ikeja where she donated food items and cash as she does often, she was received at the Orphanage Home by the matron, children and other members of staff with great delight as a special birthday song was rendered for her by the children. Massive Fraud in Kogi State as Fake Certificates,Fake 900 Schools & Fake Teachers Exposed

After painstaking investigations, it has been finally established that there are massive and rampant cases of fake certificates, being paraded by thousands of primary school teachers in Kogi State payroll through SUBEB. 21 Year Old Fed Up with Life, Hangs Himself With his Own Clothes at His Work Place in Lagos

The 21-year-old-man who was identified as Tope Diya committed suicide at his work place at Olayiwola Street, Oko Oba, Agege yesterday, May 19th. Tope who is a resident of 5, Ademolu Street, Oko Oba, was found dead at about 7:00am yesterday. He reportedly used his cloth to hang himself to an aluminum frame. The spokesperson of the Lagos State police command, Dolapo Badmos, confirmed the incident and said brother of the deceased reported the incident to the police.  The police have begun investigation into the matter.

A student of the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi identified as Samuel Chimezie Emeagwu, was allegedly beaten to death by some officers of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS in Makurdi, Benue State capital in Monday May 16th. According to reports, the deceased believed to be in his late 20s had a fight with his friend whom he believed stole his phone. The friend then reported the matter to the SARS policemen who arrested and brutalized the deceased. While they were beating him, Samuel fell unconscious and was rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC on Thursday, May 19, 2016, arraigned one Emmanuel Emelife on a 16 count charge bothering on conspiracy, diversion of funds and obtaining money by false pretence to the tune of N56,000,000.00 (Fifty Six Million Naira), before Honourable Justice D. A. Onyefunu of Anambra State High Court, Awka. Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, renowned filmmaker, Spike Lee receive Johns Hopkins University honorary degrees Johns Hopkins University's 2016 commencement ceremony was held on Wednesday, May 18 at Royal Farms Arena in downtown Baltimore. It was a celebration of more than 7,500 graduates—including about 1,500 undergraduate students, eight distinguished achievers.  Award-winning Nigerian novelist, Chimamanda Adichie, groundbreaking filmmaker, Spike Lee, a Nobel Prize winner, and Maryland's first woman to become an administrative Circuit Court judge are among eight distinguished achievers who received Johns Hopkins University honorary degrees. Dr. Adichie wore the traditional gold and black gown at the ceremony. The commencement speaker was renowned U.S. filmmaker Spike Lee who delivered a poignant address in which he advised graduates to "build bridges of love versus walls of hate".

The small girl with big personality is one of only 80 children in the world diagnosed with the condition. She turned 17 this month even though doctors didn't expect her to live past the age of 13 Phalatse attended her school matric few daysdays ago and shared lovely photos on Instagram. Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome, commonly known as progeria, is an extremely rare condition wher a child ages eight times faster than normal and hence has a much shorter life span than children their age. Such children usually die from a heart attack or stroke.

The City of Abidjan was thrown into fun and excitement over the weekend as the African Basketball League hosted sport entertainment lovers to the Abidjan Basketball Challenge at the Palais des sports de Treichville, Abidjan. The two days in Abidjan showcased more than basketball as African music stars and dancers spiced up the nights with electrifying performances. The Nigerian artistes were led by Sound Sultan, Chidinma , Korra and May D. D J Arafat and others were also on ground to entertain fans. The arena with a capacity of over five thousand was packed full to capacity and tickets were already sold out before the tip off time. Four teams participated at the Abidjan Basketball Challenge; Lagos Islanders, Stallions,Libreville Izobe of Gabon and the Abidjan Ramblers. OMG!!! Speeding Truck Crushes An 'Agbero' Fighting With Friend Over Unpaid Debt At Berger

A speeding truck crushed a motor park boy, popularly called agbero, to death on Wednesday at the Berger bus stop, on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. It was learnt that the deceased, identified simply as Agba Akin, had lent a friend some money which the friend, Jimoh, had yet to repay. Jimoh, a commercial driver shuttling between Ketu and Mowe, was said to have slowed down to pick passengers at the bus stop when the deceased rushed to his side and struggled for the steering with him (Jimoh), insisting that the money should be paid on the spot. PUNCH Metro gathered that as Jimoh sped off to evade the payment, Agba Akin lost his balance and veered into the path of an oncoming truck which smashed his head. A woman, identified only as Mama Oyin, has allegedly abducted a one-year-old girl, Fehintola Lawal, in the Abule Egba area of Lagos State. The source  said that Mama Oyin, who disguised as a customer, had on Saturday said she was willing to buy some items from Fehintola’s mother and grandmother, who were retailers in a shop in the Abule Egba area. Our correspondent gathered that the items were not available in the shop. Mama Oyin was said to have returned on Monday around 11am to the shop, and reportedly begged for direction to where she could buy the items in Agege. It was learnt that Fehintola’s mother, Lola Lawal, had offered to go with Mama Oyin, who was said to be a friendly customer. While Mama Oyin and Lola were about leaving, Fehintola fell asleep and the customer was said to have requested to strap her (Fehintola) to her back, while she (Mama Oyin) handed over her bag to Lola. How Saraki Used $375m Loan From GT Bank To Buy Houses In UK – Witness

The principal witness in the ongoing trial of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, Michael Wetkas on Wednesday at the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT, insisted that Saraki used a loan of $375m from Guaranteed Trust Bank, GTB, to purchase properties in the United Kingdom. Wetkas, an operative of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, also alleged that Saraki did not declare the loan during his assets declaration of 2011. He claimed that the Senate President’s account statement with GTB showed how he transfered various amount in naira, dollars and pound Sterling to united Kingdom for onward purchase of properties. Wetkas, reading from page 6, of exhibit 9, gave a breakdown of the funds transfered. The breakdown reads, “On Feb, 2010 there was credit of $1.2m, 15 Feb 2010, $1m, 16 Feb 2010, $150,000; $42,000, $1.2m on Feb 12, 2008. “There was a credit of £761,90.76 and February 15, 2010, debit entry of $1m for forex purchase and convention. A human trafficking victim, Love John, says she slept with more than 400 men in less than five months in the Sango Ota area of Ogun State. Love, 22, and her 23-year-old sister, Happiness, were lured into prostitution sometime in January by their eldest sister, Mary. Mary also tricked a cousin, Joy Lawrence, 25, promising the three ladies that she could give them jobs that would help them make a decent living. However, by the time they discovered that they had been trafficked, the victims said they had become trapped. PUNCH Metro learnt that Lawrence and another victim fled the hotel on Monday when they could no longer bear the pain they were subjected to. Lawrence was reported to have been brought to the Lagos zonal headquarters of the Nigeria Immigration Service, which then stormed the hotel and rescued other victims.
