  Celebrity couple, Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth have reportedly called off their wedding. A source told OK! Australia on Thursday that the Hollywood power couple could not agree on when they should have children. The insider claimed that  Hunger Games star Liam, 28, was eager to settle down and become a dad but Miley, 25, isn't yet ready. 'He wants kids and doesn't want to keep putting it off but it's not quite the timeline Miley had in mind... he is left heartbroken,' the source said.   Governor of Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, on Wednesday raised alarm over aerial surveillance of the Government House, Ado-Ekiti by a police helicopter. According to the governor, the police chopper has constituted danger to his personal safety, his family, workers and visitors to the Government House. In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Idowu Adelusi, the governor described the development as “brazen show of naked force and abuse of power by the Federal Government.” According to him, he sees no reason for the aerial surveillance of his official residence and office since the state governorship election is over. He also accused the nation’s security forces of allowing themselves to be used to intimidate political opponents despite being funded with tax payers’ money.   The Kogi State government has condemned the burning of four of the constituency projects of Senator Dino Melaye in Lokoja, the state capital by some hoodlums. Recall that yesterday, two of the secondary schools renovated by Dino Melaye to celebrate his 3rd year in the National Assembly, were vandalized and burnt on Tuesday night. Dino was meant to commission the projects yesterday Wednesday July 18th. Reacting to the incident, the Director General, Media and Publicity to the state governor, Kingsley Fanwo who spoke on behalf of government during an assessment tour of the burnt facility, said the state government has directed security operatives to fish out the arsonists. "Irrespective of who is doing the project, the fund is from the government. So whether it is the executive or legislative, such projects should rather be applauded and not destroyed", he said. Apapa residents raise alarm as third tanker loaded with petroleum product falls and spills petrol all over

Another tanker loaded with petroleum product fell at Berger suya bus stop, Olodi Apapa, Lagos, yesterday, July 18, 2018, and residents are worried that the tanker situation in the area is a disaster waiting to happen. Yesterday's incident is the third to happen on that same spot and each time these tankers fall, they spill their contents on the road and into gutters, risking an explosion. A day before the tragic Otedola bridge tanker explosion occurred, a tanker loaded with petrol fell at the same spot at Berger bus stop in Olodi Apapa and two days later another with diesel fell, a resident said. Concerned residents have raised alarm about the warning signs the government has turned a blind eye to. They fear lives and properties could be lost if action is not taken soon. Federal Government unveils new National Carrier called "Nigeria Air"

  Moments ago, the Minister of State for Aviation, Hadi Sirika unveiled the name of Nigeria’s national carrier, as well as the logo at the Farnborough International Airshow in London. Sirika said the national carrier is called Nigeria Air.   During the unveiling, the minister said, “this will be a National Carrier that is Private sector-led and driven. It is a business, not a social service. Government will not be involved in running it or deciding who runs it. The investors will have full responsibility for this. The Nigerian Government will not own more than 5% (maximum) of the new National Carrier. Government will not be involved in running it or deciding who runs it, ” he said He added that government is in talks with aircraft providers, “We’ve been talking to Airbus and Boeing (and they’re present at this event) regarding the aircraft for and we will be making announcements very soon. We are currently negotiating.”

It's not every day you find a cat sitting down like other students to study. A cat was photographed sitting on a bench with a book opened in between its paws in Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife. While students went to Awo cafe to read, the cat joined them, took up space on an empty bench and began looking through a book to the amusement of other studying students. The photos were shared on an OAU Facebook group with the caption: "Even in OAU animals do read, imagine a cat reading in Awo cafe."

Student who started walking from midnight in order to get to his new job by 8 a.m. is gifted a new car by his CEO

An Alabama college student walked 20 miles in the dark to get to his new job and this act of dedication inspired the company’s CEO to gift him a car. Walter Carr, who couldn’t find a ride after his car broke down, started walking from Homewood at midnight in order to arrive at his Bellhops moving job in Pelham by 8 a.m. on Friday. At about 4 a.m., Pelham police picked him up and took him to breakfast before dropping him off at the home of customer Jenny Lamey. Lamey said Carr, despite walking for hours, declined her offer to rest and had plenty of energy for the job. Touched by his work ethics, she started to help him with his car troubles by creating a GoFundMe page. "I just can’t tell you how touched I was by Walter and his journey. He is humble and kind and cheerful and he had big dreams! He is hardworking and tough," she wrote on Facebook. The police team led by super cop, Abba Kyari, during a brief in Maiduguri, also said that many suicide bombers and those that trained them were arrested.    

Hoodlums burn down two school renovated by Dino Melaye

  The Government Girls Secondary School, Sarkin Noma and Lokongoma Secondary School both in Lokoja Local government area, which were renovated by Senator Dino Melaye and were due for commissioning this morning, have been vandalized and razed down by hoodlums in the state. The girls schools were among the sixty-nine projects Dino Melaye had arranged for commissioning to celebrate his three-years in the National Assembly. The hoodlums destroyed the schools and set them ablaze last night. Senator Melaye has been in a running battle with the State Governor, Yahaya Bello.

Police nabs notorious car snatcher in Katsina

  The Katsina State Police Command said it has succeeded in arresting a notorious suspect who specializes in car snatching. Police Patrol team attached to Malumfashi Area Command, Katsina while on routine patrol in Malumfashi town, intercepted the suspect, Wadatau Lawan, 49, of Marina village, Sokoto state, with a stolen Toyata Camry, 2000 model, green in colour,  Chassis No.4TIBG22K6Y495726 with registration KJA 432 EG.  However, during the course of investigation another motor vehicle Toyota RAV4 Jeep, ash in colour, Chasis No. JT3HP10V7X7146904 with Reg. Staff Present ExxonMobil With Coffin During Protest Against Mass Sack

Staff of multinational oil and gas company ExxonMobil on Tuesday closed down the Lagos headquarters of the company over the sacking of 860 spy police without entitlements. The company’s workers’ union protested the sacking of these workers, who were mostly Nigerians saying, they were sacked by ExxonMobil in breach of labour laws despite putting in over 22 years of service. They also dropped a coffi painted in red at the gate of the company. Speaking with NAN, Chairman of ExxonMobil Branch of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN), Mr. Rasak Obe, said the protest was done so that management could feel unhappiness of the workers. He expressed shock that the security personnel who had served the company faithfully for several years could be massively sacked. Police in Lagos state have arrested a 27-year-old university dropout, Destiny Otubambo, for alleged theft and obtaining by false pretences. Parading the suspect before newsmen in the command's headquarters in Ikeja yesterday July 16th, the state commissioner of police, Edgal Imohimi, said Otubambo purchased phones worth N377, 500 from a dealer at Ikota Shopping Complex Lekki, Ajah, on May 24 by generating false bank alert. After collecting the phone, the suspect asked for the company's bank account so he can do a transfer. “He was given the account details to which the said amount should be credited. After few minutes, he claimed he had credited the said sum. To prove he had, he showed a debit alert from Zenith account number 2110746005, titled, Desitny Ayo Adeleke. Believing it to be true, the shop owner released the phones to him and requested for his phone number.
