  Cardi B has announced that she will not be going on tour with Bruno Mars as planned. The new mom said she thought she'll be ready to hit the road six weeks after childbirth but just discovered that the reality of motherhood is way different from her expectation. She also explained that her doctor has advised against taking her newborn daughter on the road and she isn't ready to leave her to travel.

  Ekiti State Governor-elect, Kayode Fayemi has paid a visit to the Director General of his Campaign Council, Opeyemi Bamidele in London. Bamidele was shot on June 1 by a trigger-happy policeman at the premises of the All Progress Congress (APC) during a welcome rally organised for Fayemi after stepping down from the Federal Executive Council  (FEC) as Minister of Mines and Steel Development. The former House of Representatives member was rushed to the State University Teaching Hospital where he was operated upon and stabilised before being flown abroad to recuperate. Abidoun James, the founder of the Christ Apostolic Church, Freedom International City parish, Akure in Ondo State, has been arrested for fraud. James was arrested on Thursday by the men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) after defrauding Mrs. Folasade Olukunini and some other members of his Church. Awili Pedro, the Commandant of the NSCDC in Ondo State, said the culprit duped Olukinni to the tune of N 1.7million with a promise to secure a visa for her son to the United States. He noted that the "prophet of doom", who had been into the business of duping people for years, also has his spiritual way of defrauding people who approach him for cleansing.   The police in Niger state has arrested a 55-year-old woman, Aisha Ibrahim, for killing her two-year-old grandchild at Karaya Fulani Camp in the Rafi Local Government Area of the state. According to reports,  Aisha and the mother of the deceased who is her daughter in-law, had been at loggerheads. On the day of the incident, Aisha's son, Bello. and the wife had gone to the neighboring village to attend a christening and In a moment of rage, Aisha carried her grandchild, tied the little girl with a rope and threw her inside a well in their compound.   The Nigerian Police Force has reacted to the reported kidnap of Senator Dino Melaye representing Kogi West senatorial district on Thursday morning at Gwagwalada by unknown gunmen when he was heading to Lokoja to attend a court session. The Police however denied knowledge of the kidnap, saying the incident was not reported in any station across the country.   British-Nigerian Labour MP, Fiona Onasanya, has been charged with two counts of seeking to pervert the course of justice by allegedly blaming someone else for speeding offences committed by herself and her brother, prosectors have said. The 34-year-old former solicitor, who narrowly won the Peterborough constituency at the 2017 election, faced two charges jointly with her younger brother, Festus Onasanya, a 33-year-old singer from Cambridge. The pair appeared at Westminster magistrates court on 12 July and were due to appear at a court yet to be determined on 13 August. Festus Onasanya also faces a third charge of perverting the course of justice. Both charges involving the MP, who defeated the long-serving Conservative MP Stewart Jackson by 607 votes at last year’s election, relate to allegedly seeking to blame someone else for speeding offences.   The Nigerian Police Force on Wednesday arraigned Senator Dino Melaye before an Abuja High Court sitting in Apo. The lawmaker was arraigned on six counts bordering on attempted suicide, attempt to escape from custody and damage of police property. The prosecution counsel, Alex Izinyonu , said Melaye escaped from police custody on April 24, 2018, after he broke the glass on the second window of a bus belonging to the Police, using his left elbow. The lawmaker was said to have jumped into a waiting vehicle, an action which the Police says amounted to an offence punishable under section 327 of the Penal Code Law. He said the defendant while being conveyed in a police vehicle to Lokoja, forced his way out of the bus and escaped. Melaye however denied committing the offences and the trial judge, Silvanus Oriji granted him bail in the sum of N5million.   Justice Muhammed Idris of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Wednesday, July 25, 2018, adjourned to July 31, 2018 for ruling on a no-case submission filed by a former governor of Abia State,  Orji Uzor Kalu, and others. Kalu alongside his former Commissioner for Finance,Jones Udeogu, and a company,  Slok Nigeria Limited,  are being prosecuted for a N3.2bn fraud. At today's sitting, the defence counsel led by Awa Kalu,  SAN, told the court that they had filed a no-case submission dated May 28, 2018 and adopted same as their written address. Kalu also informed the court that the defence had served the prosecution a reply on point of law dated July 20, 2018 and filed July 24, 2018.   The follow-up meeting President Donald Trump proposed holding with his Russian counterpart in a few weeks will no longer happen this year, the White House said on Wednesday. "The President believes that the next bilateral meeting with President Putin should take place after the Russia witch hunt is over, so we've agreed that it will be after the first of the year" Trump's national security adviser John Bolton said in a statement. The second set of talks, which Trump instructed Bolton to organize last week, drew surprise and consternation among some national security officials.
