  Movie director and actor, Francis Atuma, has earned the ire of Nollywood actors after he said in an interview that "you can’t make it in Nollywood if you’re not a prostitute or homosexual" (read here ). Actress Ruth Kadiri has replied the director and warned him to quit generalizing. She stated clearly that she's not a prostitute, adding that she and a lot of other actors work extremely hard to earn their keep. She wrote: "A lot of us work too hard to be placed into a general category and insulted by a practitioner Mr Pascal I am not a prostitute. I do not sleep with men for money or lifestyle... I feel offended. I am an ACTRESS and a PRODUCER I am successful and I am not a prostitute. SIR. Talk about the height of hypocrisy! A finance enthusiast has exposed a man who called her a hoe and diminished all her achievements simply because he saw vacation photos of her on social media. Oluwatosin Olaseinde shared a screenshot of a tweet posted by a certain Godfrey with the Twitter handle @Tymgawdphry. Godfrey accused her of being a hoe simply because she could afford to vacation in Russia. He immediately jumped to the conclusion that she was there on a "hoelizing voyage." Shortly after acting all sanctimonious on his timeline, he went into the same woman's DM, begging to meet with her. Well, Tosin isn't having it and she has named him to shame him. Police in Missouri are looking for a female shoplifter who was caught on camera dancing while stealing from a store. In the surveillance footage released by St. Louis County Police Department on Facebook accompanied with ' Bodak Yellow ' song by rapper Cardi B , the  'dancing thief' was caught shuffling through a QuickTrip store before getting closer to the counter to steal rolls of scratch-off lottery tickets. After taking the tickets, she danced again and stole more before showing more moves. 'Money moves? We think not,' the department wrote on Facebook, quoting the hit song 'Bodak Yellow'. 'While the video of her face isn't completely clear, we're hoping someone recognizes those dope dance moves.' A 28-year-old Kenyan labourer identified as Robert Muchangi is reportedly in a coma after two steel nails were hammered into his skull Muchangi, a bricklayer from Meru County was said to have been attacked in Kabuitu last Wednesday by a man who allegedly offered him a building job at his home. Muchangi had reportedly gone to see the man to demand his dues and that how he was callously attacked. A witness, Dominisiano Kaunga who rushed the victim to hospital after the attack, told The Standard that the father of two was seriously in deep pain when he spoke to him about the assault before he lost consciousness. He was attacked at around 6pm. l got a call that someone had been found unconscious in my homestead and had two nails hammered into his head,” said Kaunga.   Law graduate, Firdaus Amasa made news headlines last year when she wasn't called to bar with her set because she refused to remove her hijab. It has now been revealed that she will be allowed to be called to bar, but there are conditions, including that she must write an apology letter for being rude. A report has been making the rounds online that hijab has now been approved for call to bar by the Body of Benchers due to Firdaus' protest. Well, this claim has been debunked by the Body of Benchers. According to The Nigeria Lawyer, TNL, the Body of Benchers stated that the correct position is that a decision was taken to allow Firdaus Amasa to be called to the Bar wearing a small covering over her hair, The Honourable Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa style, not the hijab. A Nigerian Army Captain on duty in the North-East has committed suicide by turning his rifle on his own stomach and opening fire at the 7 Division Medical Centre in Maiduguri on June 18. According to Vanguard, the unnamed military officer was drafted from the Nigerian Army 22 Armoured Brigade in Ilorin to the North-East as part of the war against Boko Haram terrorists and was attached to troops operating in Mafa Local Government Area, Borno State, the heart of Boko Haram onslaught. He collected his gun from the armoury on June 18th saying he was returning to Mafa to join his team the next day. The nature of his ailments prior to the suicide, if any, could not be ascertained as at press time. The incident occurred seven months after a soldier opened fire on a Captain, killing him before killing himself. The Nigerian Army is yet to react to this new report.incident.

About a month ago, Nigerian pop star Davido showed off papers of his newly acquired private jet called 'Air OBO', but many of his fans didn't buy it.   An elder at the Ascension Congregation of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana in Koforidua was found dead in a room hours after he had lodged into a guest house at Aboabo, near Nkurakan in the Eastern Region, last Tuesday. The 60-year-old man identified as William Osae-Ansah , who is also a treasurer at the church, was alleged to have checked into the Susu Sei Me Guest House about 9.30 a.m. with a 40-year-old woman, also a member of his church. According to workers at the Guest House, they received the shock of their lives when the woman who accompanied the church elder into the hotel room rushed to the reception some few minutes later to report that her partner was unresponsive. They said the Church elder was found naked and lifeless in the hotel room after engaging in hot intimacy with the lady whose identity wasn't revealed.   A teenager who gunned down a chef then boasted about the murder on social media has been sentenced to life in prison. Raheem Benson, 18, from Colorado, was ordered to serve life in prison Friday in the death of 33-year-old Nicholas Lewis in Englewood, news station KMGH reported. Benson allegedly targeted Lewis at random while the chef was walking home from a convenience store in October 2016. Prosecutors said the then-16-year-old Benson shot him three times, including in the heart. Lewis was found lying on his back on the sidewalk and rushed to a hospital, where he later died. Benson then reportedly took to Facebook to brag about the slaying. He also posted photos in which he posed with the mask he wore and the gun he used, the Denverite reported. Police were able to link Benson to the crime from a vehicle seen on security camera footage. Benson was found guilty of first-degree felony murder, second-degree murder and attempted aggravated robbery in March. He w

  The Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested a former Governor of Benue State, Gabriel Suswam, over security issues in the state. According to Channels TV, Suswam was arrested today after the incumbent governor, Samuel Ortom,  petitioned the DSS alleging that Suswam has threatened to make the state ungovernable hence the continous attacks recorded in the state. The DSS had arrested the former Governor in 2017, after it said it uncovered a large cache of arms and ammunition from a property allegedly belonging to him at number 44 Aguiyi Ironsi Way, Maitama-Abuja. According to a statement by the DSS spokesman, Tony Opuiyo, the operation was informed by intelligence that some incriminating items were stashed in the boots of cars parked at the property. Hassana Angyan , a housewife on Tuesday begged a Kubwa Grade 1 Area Court to dissolve her marriage with  Shuaibu Abdullahi , over his drunkenness, refusal to pray and battery.   Angyan told the court that she got married to Abdullahi 30 years ago, under Islamic Law, the marriage produced six children. The World Health Organization on Monday classified "gaming disorder" as a mental health condition.  The condition described as ‘gaming disorder’ will be added to the 11th edition of WHO’s International Classification of Diseases. The U.N. health agency said classifying "gaming disorder" as a separate addiction will help governments, families and healthcare workers be more vigilant and prepared to identify the risks.  But the agency and other experts were quick to note that cases of the condition are still very rare, with no more than up to 3 percent of all gamers believed to be affected. Dr. Shekhar Saxena, director of WHO's department for mental health and substance abuse, said the agency accepted the proposal that gaming disorder should be listed as a new problem based on scientific evidence, in addition to "the need and the demand for treatment in many parts of the world." However, she forgot the child was in the car when she arrived at the school and locked her car. She only remembered the child was still in the vehicle when she returned to her car after classes finished at 4.30pm. A post mortem by the district hospital found that the girl died of suffocation as the car was left in sunlight throughout the day with all the windows closed. The female teacher, whose name was withheld, teaches at Ban Cham Phuthong Kindergarten in Moo 1 village in Tambon Huay Muang in Phupha Man district.
