Indian Hemp Trafficker Arrested With 106 Parcels of Hemp and 4 Passports in Lagos

A suspected cannabis trafficker, Mr. Sylvester Gbenga has been arrested by the Seme Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS. Gbenga was arrested at Gbaji Customs check point along Lagos-Badagry expressway on Wednesday and handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, yesterday. In a statement by the Customs Public Relations Officer, PRO of the Command, Taupyen Selchang, the suspect was arrested with about 106 parcels of hemp.  statement said, “The arrest of the suspect was possible through intelligence gathering by the seizing officers, led by A/C Abubakar Hamza, who trailed the suspect from neighbouring Benin Republic. “The parcels were concealed in a Toyota SEQUOIA car with Lagos State number plates EKY 407 CA. “The suspect and the parcels were on Thursday handed over to the Commander, NDLEA Seme Badagry, represented by the PSO Admin/Logistics of NDLEA, Seme, Musa Khalil.” Confirming the arrest, the Acting Customs Area Comptroller, Sabo H....

Bayelsa Federal Hospital Sues 121 Unclaimed Corpses - Check Out Why

A mild drama played out at the Federal High Court in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State wednesday, when the court clerk read out a case between the Federal Medical Centre, Ovom in Yenagoa and 121 unclaimed corpses. Quote “Now everybody is afraid because they have mentioned corpses,” the judge joked. Lawyers and others in the courtroom were shocked so Justice Ajiya Nganjiwa sought to allay the fears of occupants of the courtroom. But the lawyer to FMC, Bayelsa, Mr. K. Clement, prayed the court to grant his 14-paragraph application requesting that the hospital should be given the go-ahead to give the unclaimed corpses a mass burial. After listening to the argument backing the application, the judge concurred, stating that it was Quote “time to allow the dead rest in peace”. “The application is hereby granted for all the 121 abandoned corpses to be buried. Nice One! LASU Rewards 160 Students With N4M For Making 4.5 Cumulative Grade Point

The Lagos State University have reportedly gifted 160 students with a total of N4 million. The students were rewarded for making 4.5 Cumulative Grade Point Average and above during the 2015/2016 academic session.‎ The Vice Chancellor of LASU, Prof. Olanrewaju Fagbohun, presented the cheques to them on behalf of the school management on Friday, June 17, at the Ojo Campus. While presenting N25,000 to each student, the VC congratulated them and urged them not to relent their efforts.
